The water is sluggish with green on top apart from where the water seems to well up from the river bed in these gently roiling clear pools. I don&#8217;t think the water makes any sound here, there is some background traffic noise which would mask it.<\/p>\n<audio class=\"wp-audio-shortcode\" id=\"audio-3960-1\" preload=\"none\" style=\"width: 100%;\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"audio\/mpeg\" src=\"https:\/\/www.richardmudhar.com\/sounds\/soundmap\/mp3\/141003-1304_bibb-way_LS101589.mp3?_=1\" \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.richardmudhar.com\/sounds\/soundmap\/mp3\/141003-1304_bibb-way_LS101589.mp3\">https:\/\/www.richardmudhar.com\/sounds\/soundmap\/mp3\/141003-1304_bibb-way_LS101589.mp3<\/a><\/audio>\n<p>The nature reserve was improved by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.greenlivingcentre.org.uk\/a2nipswich\/category\/alderman-canal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Access to Nature project<\/a> in 2012. It&#8217;s easy to be cynical about some of these projects but this one seems to have worked really well, and there was a lot more birdsong in this part of path by the canal than in the unimproved bits.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There is a little nature reserve by the canal near the football ground, an oasis of calm.
